What's in a name?

Well, we are getting real close to the end of this pregnancy (hallelujah) with only four weeks left to go. I have an appointment on Monday to check my fluid (again) and if all is well I will get to have this baby when I go into labor instead of being induced again. I had low amniotic fluid with Ryan and because of insufficient weight gain (I've made it to a grand total of 6 lbs...with an extreme amount of effort) they are worried that may be the case again. So we shall see if I have to go all the way to the end!

Problem: we don't have a name for this baby. Problem: I'm kind of a planner and would like to have this nailed down so that I don't have to continue to experience the stress of this unresolved issue. Problem: I read WAY too much into people names. Like I live by about 25 naming rules...some are very strict and some are flexible. But the fact is, if you think I haven't been thinking about it...you don't know me very well as I have more than likely been OVER thinking it. Problem (a great problem): I love our last name. I think it is a really good one that goes with everything...in fact I think a lot names sound BETTER when paired with our last name.

We do have two options in mind but we can't seem to lock it in and say that we have picked a name. I'm sure some of you are thinking we should wait until we meet the boy, and you may be right, however, I know people who have named their child in the hospital...and subsequently wished they had done things different. And also, I'm neurotic...doy.

In other news...the "projects" are coming along nicely. If you have spoken to me in the last month, there is no way that I have gone more than 5 minutes without talking about my "projects". We are finishing up and I will post pictures soon (I've been thinking about you Ciara, but I can't post until I'm DONE...as this is a major motivational factor.) But I will tell you this, the dining room is about 1.5 hours from complete (those dang drapes...but Aunt Diane you are going to be so proud), Ryan's room is done excepting a small furniture rearrangement and the nursery progressed to halfway complete today! In the meantime we have also installed extra shelving in the laundry room and we are organizing the garage with new shelving from Costco (love Costco). So we have been busy, busy, busy. And while I won't be exceptionally disappointed to no longer be pregnant, I need at least two more weeks to complete all of my projects. Wish me luck!!

seriously? 6 lbs?! That's ridiculous, and unfair, but I hope everything checks out okay at your appointment!

first of all....6 lbs? whatever.
Names are tricky to me. I dont like to have one pinned down but Brian does. I always want to wait to see which one they are and Brian thinks that it doesn't matter. I hated that we named Natalie Natalie for like a month. I wanted her to be Annie. Then finally it just had to be dealt with, obviously and I love it.
Stephen was super hard for me too... I think it is an old man name, but I totally wanted him to have good meaning to his name. I knew it was an excellent name in theory but just calling a baby stephen sounded ridiculous. Now I love it and it is perfect. I think you just go with what you think and your gut instint and it will be perfect.
LIS! i am so excited for you!YOu know I am asking... where is a pic 6 lbs?

Wow!
1. can't believe you only gained 6 pounds. good and not great, but if there's a goal to achieve then you're doing your best to get there.
2. lol, love that you are thinking of me in the same sentence as projects. ha. can't wait to see the final photo (you know i am so serious)
3. your naming obsession is so so so very similar to lyle and mine (ok mostly lyle) because we ALSO have rules and some i agree with and some i don't, so i see/understand partly your dilemmas.
4. i cannot wait to see baby #2! good luck!

I remember writing down about 10 names on a piece of paper in the hospital for Brian. Originally we had chosen "Benjamin" but upon delivery it just didn't seem right. (You know Uncle Konrad has MAJOR issues with names - if you know HIS story :) CAN'T WAIT to see the drapes. I will post my drape pics in a few weeks if you post yours. (This will make me finish) I am proud of you. 6 lbs. - WOW!

Well last time I talked to you it was 4lbs. So apparently you have been pigging out. Too bad I have already gained 6lbs :( I like both the names, so maybe I will use the one you don't use... it is easier to not worry about it when you have done all the work and choosing. hehehheeheehehehehehe. I can not wait to see some pictures of him.

Lisa, I thought we had this all worked out. I told you exactly what to name him. I't's perfect and it passes all of your bazillion rules. Remember???

I love projects . . . especially ones OTHER people are doing :) You will have to show us, in person, seriously, when are we getting together before you get rid of your 6 lbs?

How have you been feeling? Don't worry about not gaining enough weight--I certainly gain enough to even it out between the 2 of us :)How's your cute Ryan?
