The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

From September to January these beauties are in season, they start readily appearing in late October and by mid-November I am investing ALOT of time in eating them. They are a challenge but sooo worth it. If you haven't had one (yes, I actually met a GROWN man who had never had one about a week ago) do yourself a favor and get one before they are gone. Delicious. That's all I have to say!

Before I scrolled down...I ACTUALLY thought that first picture was GUSHERS..you know the juicy filled chewy candy?! Yeah, and they start 'showing up all over Georgia about this time of year" HUH? Ha! I found a recipe for a lettuce salad with those in it! I need to dig it out and make it! CRAVING some!

Lis, I remember well your love of this wonderful fruit. After reading your blog I was inspired to buy some since Broulims was having a sale. (well I don't know how good a sale this really was,) but I bought 2 for $5. And have since bought 6 more, I am addicated and so are my kids, they are the perfect little bite sized snack. We eat them plain, put them on salad, ice cream, yogurt, mike even dumped some on his roast beef!

Anya loves these too! She had some money the other day--a penny--and I asked her what she wanted to buy with it. She said: "A pomegranate." I hope once they are not in season she will be liking something a little cheaper, say bananas :)
