A Quarter of Century

Well, my 25th birthday came and went. To make it seem like a bigger deal, I have been referring to myself as a quarter of a century. It makes me sound older, or maybe just ridiculous. The day was fun, we went to the Cheesecake Factory...and like my friend Chris says, when you have 10 pages of "specialities" are they really that special? I think not. I was given a telephoto lens for my birthday which was totally awesome!

Other than that, we recently got back from the beach. Which was really awesome...except for Hurricane Gustav being there are the same time as us. The first day was beautiful and really warm. The second day was nice but kind of windy. By the third day, the beach was gone and the Gulf had swollen all the way up to the condo we were staying in. Luckily, we were only there for the long weekend so we were heading home anyway. We were excited because our friends Ginny and Shawn came with us and of course brought their little girl Charlotte.

While we were there, we put Ryan in this trampoline bungee thing and I have the best video ever, so stay tuned, but I will post a picture of it right now. The thing is, he was the smallest kid there, (obviously as he barely met the 20 lbs requirement) and people all over were watching him. Some of them thought he would pop right out the top and I'm sure they thought I was a bad parent for putting him it but he LOVED it. And he cried when we took him out. The beach was pretty low key and we had a good time just getting away. Enjoy the pics!!

Ryan hanging out on the balcony. He loved it out there. This is also one a MILLION crackers that he ate while we were there. It seemed to be his food of choice.

The view from the balcony.

Ryan getting started on the bungee trampoline!

He was squealing and flapping his arms the whole time, it was hysterical!!

They had this kidzone area, which had like sprayers and stuff. Ryan liked it, Charlotte did not! The huge bucket of splashing water freaked her out! I don't know if Ginny knows I took that picture :)

Mom and Ryan in the lazy river. This would have been a lot more fun if I had a tube myself, but since I was keeping up with Ryan I just walked around with his little floatie.

That is Matt body surfing in the double red flag waves. Ginny, Shawn and I were laughing so hard. It was awesome.

hello bday girl. I was going to call you last Friday, but I started a new job and I had to do all this training last minute and I totally spaced it. Oh well! I'm sure you enjoyed turing a 1/4 of a century without my call. I was thinking of ya! And about how we haven't talked in years (again) so I will try to call this weekend.

booya being on the beach, DOUBLE BOOYA for getting a telephoto lens for your bday!

You got some great pics! I have about 50 of Ryan in the bungee, so I'll have get those to you. And no, I did not realize you were taking that picture, but I do love popping up on the Internet in my bathing suit, so well done! What you can't tell in the picture is that Char was totally hysterical when that water dumped on her. Oh well, she'll cheer for Ryan when he's kicking butt on the swim team at age 3.
And happy birthday, oldy!

I LOVE that you put him on the bungee trampoline! I don't get those over protective parents. Happy late birthday!

Cute pics! Water parks are the best. We took Parker to Hurricane Harbor and he loved it. That bungee thing is crazy. I can't believe he did that. He is such a cutie!

Yes, I am pretty much a bad friend as well, I got a call on my big 2-5, but did I return the favor... NO. I am sorry. Hope you had a great birthday. Ryan is catching some amazing air on that trampoline thing. The beach looked like fun.
